Grand Dam: Back Forty Farm's Rosebud, 32½" Gray-Dun

Don't let her small size fool you. This is a little bundle of Dynamite! Josie is as cute as a bug and she has the "poor me" look down to a science. My nickname for her is "Eeyora". She loves to be hugged and rubbed and told how cute she is. Josie is very correct and stocky. I was very nervous about leaving her alone when she was close to foaling. But she decided to have her baby 2 days after Chet's stroke and I wasn't home. She did it all on her own and she is an excellent mother. Josie is bred to Tomahawk for a March 2008 foal.

Sugar is a real cuddle bug and  she is so darn cute. She is still young but already looking like a showstopper. Sugar is in foal to our red jack, "Tomahawk", for a Spring 2008 foal.  This should be a great baby out of two small, stocky and very correct parents!

Update! Wow! Sugar foaled the most gorgeous, tiny, correct jack on July 8, 2008. See "Hot Tamale" on the foals page. I just knew this match would produce a fantastic foal and she and Tomahawk did not disappoint us! We will definitely repeat this breeding after she has weaned this little guy.

I fell in love with this little girl when she was about 6 hours old. (via the internet!) Leona from U Misty U Miniature Donkeys in Grand Forks B.C. and I had been e-mailing back and forth about the other two jennets above and she sent me a picture of new born Ruby. That was all it took! And she is something! She has no clue that she isn’t as big as my horses. Update. Ruby foaled Bella Roana on June 18th, 2007. Bella Roano is pictured with Ruby on the left.

Dam: Moe Moe Acres Picture Perfect Lady, 32½" Brown & White Spot
Grand Sire: Windcrest Fire & Ice, Dark Spot
Grand Dam: My World Tina Turner, Black

I first laid eyes on this tiny spotted girl at the Red Bluff donkey show last September. Chris Schwagerl of Wannabe Ranch in Oregon was showing her and she won the spotted class. She was the cutest little donkey at the show. I begged Chris at that time to sell her to me but, of course, her answer was "no". She did promise me that if she ever did decide to sell her I would have the first chance to buy her. Well here she is and I am tickled to pieces to add her to my herd.  In a few years I plan to breed her to my tiny future jet black with white muzzle herd sire "Wannabe Ranch Rainier" who stands just 27" tall at one year.
